Mom's Little Girl As Always

Mom always treats me like a little girl. At times, I couldn't stand it and asked her not to treat me that way. I kept reminding her that I've grown up, I'm an adult, please......^^.
Yet, she would forget. This is mom.

Mom is more than 60 now but she has a young heart and she is always pretty in my heart.

On Mother's Day, I presented to her this two little cuppies and left her a message:

I'm always your little child and you're always my dearest mom.

She smiled and corrected me, "It should be little girl, not child." You're right mom and we have not only once but 365 days a year of Mother's Day.

Three Little Lambs Playing Bowling?

A good friend Mr.Egg celebrated his 30th birthday. He kept begging me to make him a special fondant cake on his birthday when he got to know I could do it earlier on.

Why not? He's my ex-colleague who loves writing, blogging, photography, calligraphy.....and bowling. Too many interests of him, I was quite headache actually when I tried to 'create' his cake. At the age of 30, he's still very much a teenage kid and his zodiac is goat or lamb, in Chinese, it's still 羊 afterall.

Bold

Finally I came out with this, 6 cupcakes with the theme of 'lambs and bowling'. Mr. Egg is the papa lamb, throwing out the ball but his mischievous baby lamb immediately grabs it and Mr. Egg almost loses his mind. Mama lamb, Mr. Egg's loving wife is calmly walking over to stop her baby, hehe...I like my cakes to tell a story.

The hardest part of the design is the sculpting of 10 tiny bowling pins, the rolling-up of lamb's wool is much easier relatively. Mom helped me to bake the vanilla butter cake.

Mr. Egg was so excited when he saw the birthday gift.

Mr. Egg: I wanna keep the cupcakes!

Me: Oops, how can? Eat it, please......

Mr. Egg: Ok, just the cake, I'll keep the lambs and bowling.

Me: ^.^ ~ (This is the kid I mean.)

Piggy Bear With Camera In The Sunset

This cake is made for a retired man, Tai, who is celebrating his 50th birthday. He opted for early retirement from a government job to start enjoying life.

I was puzzling about the colour scheme I should use earlier on.. An orange sunset theme popped out after much pondering. Sunset indicates rest, relax, and the swaying coconut trees further enforce the easy life mode he is living up now.

My friend told me that he was quite surprised to see such a little sculpted cake, especially the tiny camera sitting by the piggy like teddy bear, haha! Ya, he's a photography geek and now spending his new episode of life taking photos here and there.

Hope Mr. Tai has a memorable 5oth birthday!
